2016: Educational Program

The data center industry is in the midst of a massive shift. The industry trends include managers who do not just manage facilities, servers, storage and networking, but has evolved to managing a more service-based optimized infrastructure that encompases a “hybrid IT”. In 2016 AFCOM Southern California Chapter will explore how this transformation is becoming more evolutionary than revolutionary for many existing businesses, and how you can make the right decisions for your data center and IT environments.

2016 Q3 Meeting

September 21st 2016 - 3:00 - 7:00 P.M.
at Southern California Edison, Irvine

Topic Title: Beyond the walls of the data center- The shift is "On"

Synopsis: What are the advantages of leveraging SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service), and what are the decision making challenges that need to be addressed for the organization and the technical support team(s). We will discuss the trends and how the role of vendor/suppliers is changing in the market. How are vendors adopting? How can vendors become partners, and are the end-users on board? We will explore these technical solutions for companies, and find answers to the ever faster shifting ecosystem.
